Gestalt Media started out working closely with our authors and our fans to create the products and business model that were missing from the world. We do things differently and we're proud of that. We put our creators first and we insist on the best possible quality for everything that carries the GM logo.
At Gestalt Media, we're a company for creators by creators who understand the only way we'll succeed in this business is by supporting one another and lifting others up. That's why we still turn to our community and trust that you will continue to fight for the projects you believe in. You are the ones who keep the independent spirit that founded us alive and well in everything we do. Gestalt Media is a family, with thousands of members all around the world.
Below are some of the success stories you've helped us create so far.
True stories of the paranormal told in a haunting audiobook format by the people witnessed them. Along with a printed companion, Haunted: True Tales of the Paranormal marks a new era for Gestalt Media. We're coming back to the fans who have always given such strong support to our goals and ideals as a creator-owned publishing company and bringing something spooky with us. Many of the stories told in Haunted are shared by the wonderful community and they've given us all a bit of the creeps.
Haunted is raw, intimate and guaranteed to give you the chills. The first in a line of fan-funded projects for 2020, we're very excited to integrate our greatest asset (our fans) into the future of GM.
Dawn Hosmer's sophomore novel The End of Echoes launched its presale campaign on IndieGoGo and reached 29 backers with 88% of funding on our first presale crowdfunding venture. We're very excited for Dawn and looking forward to her third novel which will be released June 2020.
Featuring Stephen King, Neil Gaiman, Richard Chizmar and many many more. The Dark Tides charity anthology was and still is a project close to our hearts. Benefitting the United Way of Hampton Roads Tragedy Relief fund for the families of the victims in the 2019 shooting in Virginia Beach, 100% off the proceeds from this book go towards the families left behind by the senseless tragedy. We managed to raise close to $5k just from IndieGoGo and a lot more through sales which will continue through November 2020. Much thanks and gratitude to everyone involved.
Our first attempt to run a presale through crowdfunding, Ghost Story was a novel that took on a life of its own long after it left the campaign phase. Now a spec script, a graphic novel coming April 2020 and the inspiration for a podcast, audiobook and line of sculptures, Ghost Story is a classic example of small things growing far beyond their initial boundaries. The second book in this series is scheduled for release fall 2021.
