On the morning of May 31st, 2019 a tragedy struck the community of Virginia Beach. One that sent shock waves throughout the sister cities of Norfolk, Chesapeake and well beyond. A gunman entered the municipal building of Virginia Beach and fatally shot 12 people.

This shocking event is one that struck close to home. Gestalt Media has deep roots in the VA Beach community and many of our family and friends still call the area home. Approached by John J. Questore, a resident who was deeply affected by that morning, we were presented the idea for an Anthology to benefit the victims and their families to try and do what little we could to bring something positive from what is otherwise a senseless act of violence.

It was a question that needed no answer. One we're proud to facilitate and one we're honored to be involved with.

Gestalt Media is humbled to announce that we have partnered with some of the biggest names in current fiction to bring you Dark Tides: A Charity Anthology (edited by John J. Questore) a collection of reprints and originals from the likes of literary giants such as Stephen King and Neil Gaiman and upcoming superstars like Richard Chizmar as well as numerous talented, award winning authors willing to lend their skills to help heal a community's wounds. With a projected 700 pages of donated material, Dark Tides is a monumental statement of solidarity from the literary community that we can and will stand together when others are hurting.

“DARK TIDES: A Charity Anthology

Virginia Beach has long been a place that people associate with beaches, nightlife, and a retreat from the stressors of the world; where the sun can shine down on you, and your cares are washed away briefly by the ocean waves.

On May 31, 2019 those waves ceased with the tragic shooting of 12 innocent people; turning a place known for relaxation and family fun - Dark.

This book is to honor those who lost their lives in this tragedy. All proceeds will be donated to the Virginia Beach Tragedy Fund c/o United Way South Hampton Roads.

We would like to offer our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the many authors who have donated their time and talents to bring this project into the world:

Stephen King, Neil Gaiman, Richard and Billy Chizmar, Brian James Freeman, F. Paul Wilson, Gene O’Neill, Lisa Morton, John R. Heartfelt thanks to everyone involved. We couldn't do this without you.
