Open Call: Own Voices Anthology

Updated: Jun 16

Gestalt Media is a company built on the principle that all people are equal. All voices deserve to be heard and none of us can truly blossom without all of us. We're dedicated to reinforcing that vision and using our platform to amplify that message in whatever way we can. The name Gestalt means that the whole is more of than the sum of its parts and that's never been more important than right now. To remember that we are a family. In short, We. Are. One.

We started our company on the foundation of Dark Tides: A Charity Horror Anthology that raised and continues to raise funds for the Virginia Beach Tragedy Fund. Doing what we can to make a difference is at the heart of who we are.

So with that in mind, Gestalt Media is looking for unrepresented voices to take part in a charity anthology comprised entirely of the voices that go unheard. We're looking for 10 authors to fully represent the true composition of our world. We want short fiction that lifts up Black Lives Matter, LGBTQ+, Mental Health Awareness, Differently-abled individuals, everyone.

Tell your truth.

This doesn't mean your story has to be sad, or tragic or even controversial. We love to see the joy that exists with all of our communities and highlight the special blessing of a unique and colorful world. We all have stories to tell and the world is waiting to hear them.

We. Are. One. is slated for release late 2020 with 75% of the profits donated directly towards making the world a safe, inclusive, uplifting space for everyone. The ten authors selected will take place in choosing the charity that best represents those ideals. Word count is 10k or less. No subject is off-limits. For obvious reasons any submissions promoting or glorifying violence, discrimination, or prejudice against other groups or individuals for their race, gender, physical ability, or any other such bullshit, shall not be considered.

Good luck!

Please send submissions to: Submissions@Gestalt-Media.com no later than July 31, 2020.
